Summer Day Camp

Summer is an ideal time for children to get out and explore.  A chance to enjoy recreational and educational activities that help them learn, grow and thrive. Do you remember your best summer ever? Was your best summer a combination of exploration, activity, education, friends and fun? For families looking to keep their children’s minds and bodies active, the Y can  give them an adventurous, active and healthy summer.

Camp Wepawaug provides a fun and unique experience that gives children and teens the opportunity to explore, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime.

To register, please fill out the documents and bring them to the Y!  2018 Day Camp Registration Packet.  If your child will require special assistance or medicine while at camp, these forms may also be required: Individual Care Plan_Medicine Authorization

If your child is 14-15 years of age, they may be interested in our Counselor in Training program. In our CIT program, they will receive valuable job interviewing skills, child care training, leadership experience, teambuilding and problem solving skills.  To apply please fill out the application and contact the Y for an interview.  CCC YMCA CIT Application_References 2018

Y Fun Club

Convenient for You, Fun for Them

When schools are closed for the entire day, due to inclement weather, children enrolled in Before and After School programs may attend our full day Y Fun Club.  Parents provide transportation to the Y.  Children need to bring a lunch, a bathing suit and towel, plus appropriate clothes to play outdoors (snow clothes, extra pants,  socks, boots, hats, gloves, etc.)

Fees:  $15 Pre-registration.  $50/day for Members.  $100/day for Non-Members


Preschool – Early Learning

Our program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is State Licensed. Our Early Learning Center has been successfully operating for 30 plus years and is located in a brand new section of our facility.

We will prepare your 3 or 4 year old for kindergarten in a caring environment with a Ratio 8:1.  With an increase focus on literacy and learning through exploration, your child will develop social, emotional, physical and academic skills necessary for the beginning of his/her academic career. Our program includes:

  • IXL Math Program:  Highly acclaimed, award-winning online math program. Matches state standards, and parents are able to monitor and work with their child’s skills.
  • The Value Tree Language Arts Curriculum:  Build self-confidence and language art skills as they grow into value-driven individuals.
  • Scholastic Readers:  Teaches science, history and math.
  • Computer Time:  Teaches math, reading readiness and  thinking skills.
  • Sight Words:  Books, recognition and guided reading practices.
  • Language Development:  Focusing on reading, writing, listening , and speaking connections.
  • Music and Movement/Socialization.
  • Swimming Lessons:  Swim instructors certified in American Red Cross, Water Safety Instructor and or YMCA swim lesson instructor.
  • Educational Field Trips, Family Events and Special Events

Half Day Program (child must be toilet trained)

3 year old Program: Days & Times: Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm

4 year old Program: Days & Times: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00am-1:00pm

Full Day Program (child must be toilet trained)

3 & 4 year old Program: Days & Times: Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 6:00 pm

Engaging Beyond the School Day

Before and After School Child Care

Our before and after school program encourages children to try new things, build confidence, make new friends and smile every day.  Homework help is offered as well as healthy snacks, group games, activity choice time, reading time, swim at the YMCA, arts and crafts, and much more.

Before and Afterschool located in:  Calf Pen, John F. Kennedy, Live Oaks, Mathewson, Meadowside, Orange Ave, Orchard Hills and Pumpkin Delight

Time: 7:15am-9:00am or 3:25pm-6:00pm

Afterschool located at the Woodruff Family Y with transportation to the Y from:  East Shore, Harborside, West Shore

Time: 2:45pm-6:00pm

Middle School and High School After School Program

Ages: Grades 6-12

The focus of the program is to give youth a safe place to be between 2:30PM and 6:00PM where they can do their homework, participate in sports, crafts, teamwork activities, and community service.  The activity schedule will vary due to the fact that the youth are involved in planning their program activities.  The program is located at the Woodruff Family YMCA. Transportation is provided to the YMCA from East Shore, West Shore, and Harborside Middle Schools; Foran, Law and the Academy in Milford.

Inclusive After School for High School

The focus of the program is to give youth an opportunity to grow socially, reinforce healthy living skills with sports, swimming, fitness, recreation opportunities, job skills training and shadowing. The program runs between 2:00PM and 6:00PM. Participants will also have time for homework.  Activities are subject to change based on the abilities and interests of the students in the program.  Transportation is provided to the YMCA from Foran, Jonathan Law, and the Academy in Milford.


Inclusive After School Program

Most of our after school programs are inclusive based.  To best prepare your child for the program, please contact our Child Care at ext. 3115 to arrange a meeting.


Y Vacation Club

No School, No Worries

Ages: Pre-K – School Age

Enjoy your days off from school at our Y Vacation Club! New this year, we are offering Y Vacation Club to preschoolers, too!

Cost:
Members: $50 per day
Community: $75 per day


Child Watch

Ages: 6 weeks – 11 years

A safe and fun YMCA staff supervised area where parents with an Adult, Single Parent or Family Membership can leave their children to play and enjoy activities while they participate in programs on-site.
