Team sports at the Y build character and self-esteem. Participants cultivate values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. Kids will not only learn the fundamentals and how to work together on a team, but also who they are and what they can achieve.

Y Stands For Youth
Youth in our Branch Wellness Center
Our Youth Wellness Orientation Bracelet Program is designed for youth members ages 10-13 who would like to use our Wellness Center while their parent is in the room. Youth will be given FREE trainings with one of our Wellness Coaches to learn about each aspect of the Wellness Center. Youth members will learn proper technique, safety and etiquette of gym fitness. Schedule your appointment today at the Member Welcome Center.
Wellness Center: Yellow Bracelet
Youth members 10-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the cardiovascular equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach. The youth member must wear a yellow wristband when working out in the Branch.
Wellness Center: Blue Bracelet
Youth members 12-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the strength equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach. The youth member must wear a blue wristband when working out in the Branch. Prerequisite: Must have completed yellow bracelet training.

SELF-DEFENSE and MARTIAL ARTS

7-13 years: Fridays 6:45pm – 7:30pm
14-17 years: Wednesdays 6:00pm – 6:45pm
18 & Over: Wednesdays 7:00pm – 8:00pm
Sprinters Swim Team
Ages: 5 – 18 years
The Sprinters Swim team is open to all boys and girls interested in individual and team competition. Everyone participates and acquires a sense of achievement. The Valley YMCA competes in the Yankee Cluster Swimming League. Individuals will be placed into practice groups according to their ability with the potential to advance into the next group as their performance improves. During meets, individuals compete by age groups against rival teams. To comply with the Yankee Cluster League requirements, all swimmers must be full privilege members of the YMCA.
Yellow Group: Beginner swimmers and or younger swimmers.
Green Group: Improving swimmers who can swim all four of the strokes. Also includes younger swimmers (10 and under) with competitive experience.
Blue Group: Experience in competition and can swim all four strokes. Most swimmers in this group should be at least 10 years of age.
Red Group: Experienced in competition and can swim all four strokes well. Most swimmers in this group should be at least 11 years of age.
Gold Group: Most experienced and skilled members of the team. Most swimmers in this group should be at least 12 years of age.

Enjoy your child’s birthday party and other celebrations with the Valley Y’s 6-lane, 25 yard pool or 6 hoop basketball court. Please call in advance to schedule a date. Full payment must be made to confirm the celebration date.
On Saturdays and Sundays, our pool or gym can be rented for one hour between the hours of 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm (1st hour pool or gym, 2nd hours in our party room.)
Fees: Based on a two-hour time slot, Members: $100.00 for 10 participants maximum; $8.00 each additional person / Community Members: $130.00 for 10 participants maximum; $10 each additional person
