Couch to 5k

Couch to 5k

Have you spent too much time on the couch this winter? Join the Couch to 5k program and in eight weeks you’ll be transformed into a fitter, healthier you – ready to run your first 5k road race if you choose! This beginner’s running schedule has helped thousands of new runners get off the couch and onto the roads, running 3 miles in just two months. Program will lead up to the Valley YMCA Sunset 5k on June 6th. Our NASM certified personal trainers will help develop an individualized program that is perfect for you and will support you with expert knowledge, coaching and motivation to help you look, feel and live better.

SilverSneakers® Classes

SilverSneakers® Classes

SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength & Range of Movement

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance, and chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® YogaStretch

Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

SilverSneakers® Silver Splash

Silver Splash offers lots of fun, shallow-water moves to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength and balance.
