Build a Happier, Healthier Kid!
Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain more weight and fall behind in studies. On April 26, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day, our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.
Endless Summer Fun
You can expect plenty of awesome and fun activities including swimming, arts and crafts, sports and counselor led activities. This year, look for our new convenient sign-in and parent information table.
We are excited to welcome everyone ages 5-15 to join and enjoy any and all of our one week sessions.
Looking for something for your 3 or 4 year old? The Stratford Y offers full-year preschool. During the summer, we switch to camp mode offering many age appropriate summer activities for this age group.
There is something for every child-all in one location! Whatever camp program you choose, your camper is sure to have fun, make new friends, grow as a person, and make incomparable memories that will last them a lifetime.

Ages: 5 – 18 years (participation depends on ability level)
A collaborative effort between the Bridgeport and Stratford Ys, our team offers a stimulating, enjoyable program that stresses stroke technique, endurance, sportsmanship, goal-setting and leadership. We strive to do all this in an environment that embraces the YMCA’s philosophy of building spirit, mind and body for all. We believe these qualities serve our swimmers well in the pool, but also in the classroom and in life.
Practices take place weeknights at the Stratford Y, 3045 Main Street, Stratford. For more information contact Krystal O’Brien, Aquatics Director.
