PumpkinHALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR – Saturday, October 29

You are invited to a scary good time for our first Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 29 at 5:30pm.

Members are invited to dress up, decorate their cars and pass out treats.  Participating vehicles are encouraged to arrive at 5:00pm to decorate and set-up.    This safe, non-scary, event is FREE to members, but participating vehicles should reserve their spot. We will have a DJ playing all your favorite Halloween tunes and a HUGE Bonfire that starts at 6:00pm.

Prizes for the top car decorations and best dressed boy and girl.

Y Stands For Youth

Youth in our Branch Wellness Center


Our Youth Wellness Orientation Bracelet Program is  designed for youth members ages 10-13 who would like to use our Wellness Center while their parent is in the room.  Youth will be given FREE trainings with one of our Wellness Coaches to learn about each aspect of the Wellness Center.  Youth members will learn proper technique, safety and etiquette of gym fitness.  Schedule your appointment today at the Member Welcome Center.

Wellness Center:  Yellow Bracelet

Youth members 10-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the cardiovascular equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach.  The youth member must wear a yellow wristband when working out in the Branch.

Wellness Center:  Blue Bracelet

Youth members 12-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the strength equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach.  The youth member must wear a blue wristband when working out in the Branch.  Prerequisite:  Must have completed yellow bracelet training.

Keeping Kids’ Minds and Bodies Active

The Y offers the following tips to help families develop healthy habits:

  • High Five the Fruits and Veggies – Make sure kids get at least five servings a day, the minimum number nutritionists recommend to maintain healthy childhood development. And to keep kids’ taste buds evolving, have everyone in the family try at least one bite of a new fruit or vegetable at least once a month.
  • Foster an Early and Ongoing Passion for Books – Read to and with your kids. Help children read at every age and every stage of their development.
  • Team Up for Athletic Events – Set a family goal of great health by teaming up for community or charity events like races, walks, fun runs, bike rides, etc.
  • Volunteer Together – Find a cause that matters to the kids. Open their eyes to a world beyond themselves and the rich rewards that come from making a difference.
  • Make sleep a priority – Doctors recommend 10-12 hours of sleep a day for children ages 5-12 and 7-8 hours per night for adults. Sleep plays a critical role in maintaining our healthy immune system, metabolism, mood, memory, learning and other vital functions.

Circus Arts

For families new to juggling and circus arts or people who want to refine their skills. Excellent for hand-eye coordination, balance, posture, concentration and overall well being. Learners will move at their own pace and receive tips and suggestions from Mystery Mike, professional entertainer.  All exercises will be done to upbeat music brought in by students. Guaranteed to leave you smiling and hooked on circus arts for life. Location: Community Room Instructor: Mystery Mike
