The Y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities.

Join Our LEVEL UP Fitness Challenge

Create an account and Register on ytraak.org/ccc – choose your goal 600 cardio/140 strength; 1200 cardio/400 strength; or 2400 cardio/600 strength minutes.  Once you register, you will be sent a confirmation number and login instructions.  Cardio goals are based on the American Heart Association’s recommendation of at least 150 minutes of cardio exercise per week. Strength goals are based on the American College of Sports Medicine’s recommendation of 20-60 minutes per day, 2-3 days per week.

Work out at the Y, at home or outside. Anywhere that you workout counts towards your goal.

Balance & Flex Together

Picture1Move Yourself – Body & Mind

Balance & Flex Together will grow you longer and stronger with an invigorating 60-minute mind-body workout.  It incorporates yoga and Pilates fundamentals with athletic training for balance, mobility, flexibility and the core. Emotive music drives the experience as you breathe and sweat through this full-body fitness journey. Getting Started Details.

Be Aware, Protect, Defend

WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE CLASS

Learn the basics on how to protect yourself with 8th Dan Master, Dave Deguzman.  This course will teach awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance. You will learn defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault using easy, effective and proven self-defense / martial arts tactics.

When: Thursdays 7:30 – 8:30pm starting October 20 for 8 weeks

Ages: Women ages 13+

Location: Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Program Center Basketball Court

Good Friends, Great Nights

Y Nights for Teens

Get a balanced plate of fun, exercise, and the chance to be with friends for three safe hours at the Y.  3 on 3 basketball, dodge ball, dancing, gymnastics open-gym are just a few programs offered during this fun time.  Visit the complimentary ice cream sundae bar and bring cash for the concession stand. The Y has professional leaders to oversee all Y Nights.

When: September 16, October 21, November 18 and December 16

Who:  Grades 5-8 (Limited to the first 175 Teens)

Registration/Fees:

Early Bird Registrtion by Thursday Night before 8:30 pm Members Free/Community Members $10.  After Early Bird Members $10/Community Members $20. Registrations taken on Friday over the phone and online.  All registrations end at 7:00pm.  A Youth Program Registration and Release Form is required for every Y Night.

Our before and after school program encourages children to try new things, build confidence, make new friends and smile every day.  Homework help is offered as well as healthy snacks, group games, activity choice time, reading time, arts and crafts, and much more.

Lakewood-Trumbull Gymnastics Team

The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA gymnastics team has been inspiring and helping children achieve their goals since the 1980’s. Through the years the Y has produced multiple State and Regional champions as well as State and Regional team championships. Our gymnasts learn, through fun and discipline, the ability to achieve their goals. We believe that if a child believes in themselves and trains hard, then anything, even the amazing sport of Gymnastics can be achieved.

YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk for developing the disease by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being.  Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58%, and 71% in adults over the age of 60.
