Good Friends, Great Nights

Y Teen Night October 24!

Get a balanced plate of fun, exercise, and the chance to be with friends for three safe hours at the Y.  3 on 3 basketball, dodge ball, gymnastics open-gym are just a few programs offered during this fun time.  Visit the ice cream sundae bar and bring cash for the concession stand.  The Y has professional leader to oversee all Y Teen Nights.

Who:  Grades 5-8

Registration:  Limit 175 Teens.  Register before 8:30pm, October 23 for the early bird discount.  Registration on  Friday over the phone will end at 7pm and online at 7:30pm.   Waivers are required for every Y teen night.  If you register online, you will fill out an electronic waiver.      Teen Night Waiver

Fees:  Early Bird Registration:  Facility Members Free / Community Members $10.00.  After Early Bird Registration:  Facility Members $10.00 Community Members $20.00

How Well Can You Spell?


To Benefit the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Annual CAMPAIGN

WHEN:  Friday, November 21, 2014 6:30 – 9:00 pm

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  November 14, 2014  2014 Spelling Bee Registration Form

WHERE:  Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA, 20 Trefoil Drive, Trumbull CT

All Students are asked to obtain sponsorship contributions totaling $50 or more.  Prizes will be awarded to the Top Speller in 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade and the Top Fundraiser per Grade.

Monroe Travel Basketball

Boys and Girls grades 5-8 will participate in competitive basketball games with teams in surrounding areas.  League is registered through the Fairfield County Basketball League.  Teams are coached by parent volunteers while games have official league referees.

Commitment is November – February with approximately two practices during the week with one or two games every weekend.

Before and After School Programs

Located at:  Fawn Hallow and Stepney Elementary Schools.

Full week programs, part time programs and drop in programs are available.

Activities include: Homework support, Arts and Crafts, Computer time, Outdoor recreation (weather permitting), and other exciting activities.  Healthy snacks served in our afternoon program.

YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk for developing the disease by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being.  Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58%, and 71% in adults over the age of 60. Y Fun Club

Experience the Y Fun Club when Trumbull/Monroe schools are canceled due to weather, or there is an emergency closing and you still have to work.  The Y can provide your child a safe half or full day option packed with activities.  Have your child experience gymnastics, floor hockey, dance and more.  Bring a nut free snack (two if in full day) and a nut free lunch.  Come have fun at the Y!
