And whether they want to be a teacher, a firefighter or president of the United States, she’s showing that with the Y’s support – all kids have the opportunity to become their best selves.

Summer Day Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character, making friends and having fun. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities.
Camp teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership—all amidst the fun of songs, games, arts & crafts, and meaningful relationships. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper. The Y offers experiences for youth entering Pre K through ninth grade with a Counselor in Training program for 14-15 year olds.

Not everyone is born with the resources to succeed. Many people across the country are made to feel invisible because of environmental circumstance. But the truth is, all people are capable of greatness. All communities are filled with beauty. And the Y is dedicated to helping people grow. Watch:
The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA gymnastics team has been inspiring and helping children achieve their goals since the 1980’s. Through the years the Y has produced multiple State and Regional champions as well as State and Regional team championships. Our gymnasts learn, through fun and discipline, the ability to achieve their goals. We believe that if a child believes in themselves and trains hard, then anything, even the amazing sport of Gymnastics can be achieved.
