Sports & Play
Youth Sports
Team sports at the Y build character and self-esteem. Participants cultivate values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. Kids will not only learn the fundamentals and how to work together on a team, but also who they are and what they can achieve.
Our programs include soccer, basketball, floor hockey, tennis and more. We also offer more advanced classes for children who have taken our sports classes before.

Martial Arts
USA Seishin Karate
This family oriented, traditional Japanese Martial Arts program has been at the Fairfield YMCA for almost 40 years. Karate is designed to introduce both young children and beginner adults to the fundamentals of Karate, as well as provide continuing development for advanced students. Karate develops a sustaining Martial Arts attitude, teaches inner strength and respect with a focus on etiquette, gestures, and philosophy in every class, at each age and level.
Classes are taught in a supportive environment that places a high level of expectation on each student. In addition to rigorous training, there is a strong focus on the teachings of Martial Arts philosophy. This is presented in a way that both very young beginners as well as adult students can understand. Parents are encouraged to watch or even join classes to learn alongside their children and support them.
