CarrotsFresh Food From Small Farms Delivered to the Fairfield Y Weekly

Field Goods is coming to the Fairfield Y! You can become a customer and receive 5 to 8 different fruits and vegetables each week, that are grown on small farms. Convenient pick-up at the Fairfield Y on Tuesdays.  The produce is non-GMO and mostly organic! Bags cost $16 to $32 per week and include a fun educational newsletter and recipes.  There is no long term committment and the program helps support the Fairfield Y Annual Campaign.

Zero Zero Start Pickleball

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net.

WHEN:  Mondays, 5:00PM-5:50PM 10/24-12/12

WHO:  Youth ages 10-14

REGISTRATION:  Members 10/4/16 $90 Community Members 10/11/16 $180

PROGRAM DETAILS:  The class will be held league style where we will keep track of wins and losses. Certificates will be awarded the team that wins the session! The class will be competitive but also social. It will be benefit coordination, endurance, and agility

YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk for developing the disease by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being.  Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58%, and 71% in adults over the age of 60. Work one on one with a Fairfield YMCA Personal Trainer. Whether it is performance or health related, the Fairfield Y’s trainers can design the right training program for you to optimize your health and reach your wellness goals. All Fairfield YMCA Personal Training staff are professionals who are fully certified through nationally recognized organizations and several staff have MA’s in Kinesiology and Physiology or Athletic Training.
