Through the Safety Around Water program, parents and caregivers will be encouraged to help their children learn fundamental water safety and swimming skills. During the course, child will learn how to respond if they find themselves in unexpected water situations – – from how to reach the water’s surface if they submerge to safely reaching a pool’s edge or exiting any body of water.
For detailed program information, please contact our Aquatics Department or Member Service Team. Class times and locations vary by program and Y Branch.

You, and everything you bring to the Y, generates a positive force in our community. Together, we take on the challenges that shape our country’s future. From tackling the achievement gap to teaching healthy habits for a lifetime or giving people the opportunity to start a new beginning, everything you and Y do together is in service of building a better us. Every day our community faces new challenges that create a greater need for the work we do. YMCA donors, volunteers, members and partners like you make the difference. You help our community and everyone in it shine.
Learn about fire safety, archery and how to be safe around the water. Dribble, joust, make a bracelet or get involved in a game of gaga! We’ll be offering the New York Life Child ID program and Youth Fit testing. Visit our special guests to pick up information about healthy eating, summer camp and dental care before you go on a super mysterious scavenger hunt.
The Y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself or your child to learn a new skill or how to swim. We foster connections with friends through our wellness programs. We bring your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities.
At the Y, it’s not about the activity you choose as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside as well as the outside.
Learn more about the Y Programs in our 2017 Spring Session Program Guide. The Spring 1 Session begins on April 24 and runs through June 18.
