Benefits of Joining the YMCA
We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities is more than just a tagline – it also serves as our promise. We pledge to nurture the healthy development of children to support families and to improve the quality of life in our communities through our programs and our people.
When you are a member of a branch of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, you have access to the programs and services available at many of our branches. The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA operates twelve YMCA branches in greater New Haven, greater Bridgeport and the Naugatuck valley. We also operate YMCA Camp Hi-Rock, a 1,000 acre residential day camp in Mt. Washington, Massachusetts.
Our YMCA branches offer a variety of programs and services, including child care, fitness programs, sports leagues, swimming, summer day and resident camp, and low-income housing with support services.
The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is part of an international movement united by common commitment to Judeo Christian teachings. We put these principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Through our programs and services, we strive to instill the four core character development values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
We serve people of all races, ages, religions, genders, abilities and incomes. As a nonprofit organization, the YMCA does not turn anyone away because of their inability to pay. Financial assistance is available for individuals and families with demonstrated need.
