For many families in our community, even the low costs of YMCA programs and membership is more than they can afford. For these families, the YMCA Strong Kids program provides membership and program support. YMCA programs such as swim lessons, child care, camping, youth sports and teen programs do more than just teach skills. They also teach youth to grow into responsible, caring adults. Our coaches and staff are positive role models for kids, helping them develop their own leadership capabilities and realize their potential. Of course, they’ll be having so much fun, they won’t realize they’re learning life lessons at the same time!

Through your generous donations to the Strong Kids Campaign, we are able to subsidize these programs so that all who desire to participate can, regardless of their financial situation. When you give to the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign, you give a deserving child a chance to play, be safe and grow.

A Gift of $75 teaches one child life-saving skills by giving them a session of Swim Lessons at any of our full-facility branches.

A Gift of $500 provides food for a family of four being helped by Alpha Community Services YMCA for one month.

A Gift of $1,000 allows ten teens to participate in our Youth and Government program.

A Gift of $2,500 provides two weeks of overnight fun, recreation and social interaction to six children at YMCA Camp Hi Rock

A Gift of $5,000 gives eight children access to licensed, NAEYC accredited preschool care at the Bridgeport, Stratford or New Haven YMCAs for a full year.
