Position Statement:
The YMCA is open to all people regardless of race, creed, color, religion,
natural origin, age, gender, disability, marital status, sexual preference,
personal financial position or veteran status.
Membership
Policy:
The CCCYMCA is a membership organization and everyone who participates must
be a current Full Facility Member or Community Member. There is a large
difference between the two; we urge you to join the YMCA as a Full Facility
Member.
|
Financial Assistance:
The Hamden/North Haven YMCA is committed to including all
members of our community. Financial assistance is available for
individuals whose personal finances prevent participation in our
programs. Please ask for an application at the Membership
Service Desk. (Scholarship applications are reviewed on a
monthly cycle.) This opportunity is made possible through the
support of the YMCA Annual Support
Campaign. |
GENERAL INFORMATION
Pool Procedures:
Showers are required before using the swimming pool. A lifeguard must be on
duty before entry to the pool is allowed. Members must follow lifeguard
instructions on pool use at all times. Band-aids, food, and gum are not
permitted in the pool area. Drinks are only allowed in plastic or paper
containers. Disposable diapers are not permitted in the pool. Please use
cloth diapers with rubber pants or swim diapers. Flotation devices are not
permitted.
Lockers:
Available for free daily use or for annual rental. We encourage the use of
a padlock to secure belongings. The YMCA is not responsible for the loss of
personal property. We discourage bringing valuables into the locker rooms.
Lockers
are for day use only; please remove your lock when you leave the premises.
Lost And Found:
For sanitary and security reasons, articles found in the building can only
be kept for a short time. Please check promptly if you have lost something;
unclaimed items are donated to local charities. The Y is not responsible
for lost items or the contents left in lockers overnight.
Class Make-Ups:
You may only attend classes for which you are registered. No make-ups are
allowed in other classes. If the YMCA cancels a class, every effort will be
made to provide a make-up.
Refunds and Credit Policy:
Refunds for program fees will only be approved in the following instances:
the YMCA cancels a program; the participant withdraws from the program and
submits a completed request form prior to the start of the session; or for
medically documented reasons. Program credit will be extended ONLY if the
request form is submitted prior to the midpoint of the session AND only for
medical reasons documented by a physician. Participants may request a
credit in lieu of a refund.
Cancellations:
All classes are run based on a minimum enrollment. The Hamden/North Haven
YMCA reserves the right to cancel classes due to a lack of enrollment. The
YMCA is not responsible for missed classes due to inclement weather and will
not issue credits or refunds; however, every effort will be made to make up
such classes where possible.
Class Registrations/Schedules:
The schedules and fees noted in this brochure are subject to change. A
membership card must be presented at the time of registration. Registration
may be done in person or over the internet at www.cccymca.org.
|
Membership Conduct Policy:
The
Hamden/North Haven YMCA is a large branch of the Central Connecticut
Coast YMCA. We are a membership organization which values personal
responsibility, honesty, mutual respect and nonviolence. In
joining, members subscribe to YMCA policies and are expected to
abide by its rules.
Supervision:
When families are present at a YMCA facility/program, parents are
responsible for supervision of their children, unless the children
are enrolled in a scheduled, supervised activity. Parents are
expected to help enforce YMCA rules.
Membership Suspension/Revocation:
Membership may be revoked or suspended if members engage in
vandalism, theft, unnecessary physical roughness in sports and
activities, use obscene or threatening language while at the Y, or
act in an abusive or intimidating manner to other members of staff.
Staff
are responsible for enforcing YMCA guidelines and have the right to
bar members from the facility/program for violation of rules.
Suspension or revocation of membership privileges will occur only
after consultation with the Executive Director or his/her designee.
No refund of fees will be made for revoked or suspended
memberships. |
