Hamden/North Haven YMCA
Age Group Competitive Swim Team
(ages 5 to 22)
This program is an
introduction to age group swimming. Swimmers will learn the
basic fundamentals of competitive swimming that will include:
proper stroke technique, starts and turns, reading and using a
pace clock, and will be introduced to competitive training.
There will be attendance requirements and swim meet
participation is mandatory. Participants must tryout in order
to join the team and will be grouped by swimming ability into
training squads. Swimmers have the chance to continue on to
Championships in the months of March and April. All members of
the team MUST be facility member of the Hamden/North
Haven YMCA.

The Swim Team
Season program runs October to Mid March for the 07/08 Season and
Mid March to July for the Summer
Season.
