Harding Resource Center
The Harding Resource Center is a collaborative effort between the Ralphola Taylor Community Center YMCA, Warren Harding High School and the City of Bridgeport Board of Education. Our mission is to offer quality, educational, and interactive after school programming for the Warren Harding High School student body. Clubs are held in the fall, winter and spring sessions in addition to year-long clubs.
Social Learning Workshops
The Social Learning Workshops promotes healthy social and emotional development by using examples in popular culture to educate students on how to navigate situations in their lives. Such as: conflict resolution, healthy coping skills, emotional expression and boundaries in relationships.
Students interested in volunteering are referred out into the community to serve local organizations. Students are also encouraged to volunteer for school activities as well.
Students gain help in building a resume despite limited work experience. Creating a process that allows for students to start developing the skills to promote themselves as they begin to seek employment.
Job Readiness Workshops
Workshops educates students on how to seek employment, proper etiquette for interview process. Focusing on materials that can help students be prepared in a workforce environment.
Girls empowered encourages girls to take full advantage of their talents, academic interests, career pursuits, and potential for healthy relationships. Material in the workshops will provide self- confidence, authenticity in relationships, and good judgment and skills. At the end of the program, girls will pick a community service project.
Do It Yourself
Fostering a safe, calm space for students to practice mindfulness, and express their creativity, as well as foster relationships through group projects.
